“I learned so much about myself during these sessions and I am thankful. I hope that other student athletes are able to use this program to learn more about what their bodies do for them. It makes my heart happy that we were provided a safe space to be vulnerable and share thoughts that we don’t share often.”

“Bodies in Motion was such a healing, educational, emotional, and hopeful experience for me. As a runner, I have dealt with a lot of conversation and attention to physical expectations of my sport. Bodies in Motion afforded me an opportunity to connect with athletes from other sports who deal with similar issues, talk about how to support each other better, and probably most importantly, see how I can take these learnings back to my teammates and create a more body positive environment within my team. I would highly encourage Bodies in Motion for any young male or female athlete. It was an incredibly safe space to come as you are, learn from others, and learn how to better love yourself.”

The ability to work with others who felt similar to me, looked like me, and walked similar life paths with me was genuinely validating when it came to juggling the ever-present standards, expectations, and pressures we feel on a daily basis, not just life but within our respective sports as well. Bodies in Motion gave me a space to connect to others and confront a lot of internal biases and expectations many do not want to acknowledge that we hold onto. Providing us with tools rooted in mindfulness was much needed and appreciated when finishing the program to continue the work essential to sports performance and success.
